Answer: For the hardware, eKoral provides an easy 3-step setup:

  1. Power on the eK Core
  2. Connect the devices to the eK Core
  3. Pair the devices
For the mobile app, there is a tutorial in the app to guide you through the setup process.

Water Quality Data

Answer: eKoral Pro comes with several probes and their respective calibration solutions. All probes should be calibrated differently. Please refer to the tutorial in the eKoral app.

Answer: Yes, eKoral provides personalized chart settings. Please visit the settings page to set the upper and lower limits.

Answer: eK Core only collects water quality data within a reasonable range. The data beyond this reasonable range will not be used, and thus, please confirm whether the water quality probe was calibrated, or if the calibration process was correctly completed.

Answer: Such water quality readings can help you to trace the trends to determine a normal pattern, and thus adjustments can be made when an abnormality occurs. Because the fluctuation of water flow and the fact that no two pieces of hardware are identical, a certain allowance should be accepted.
We suggest that users take the following steps to improve the accuracy of their eKoral Probes:

  1. Dip the new probe(s) in your fish tank for about 1 week.
  2. Calibrate the probe(s).
  3. Keep the cables from twining. Separate the cable of your probe from any other cables.
  4. We recommend placing your probes in a lower tank, and make sure no voltage interference occurs from other electronic equipment

Operational Control

Answer: A chiller is a device that plugs into the eK Power 6, so please check your default settings. The chiller will turn on when the temperature reaches up to 80 °F, and will revert to the default settings when the temperature reaches 73 °F. If the default setting of the chiller is OFF, the chiller will turn off when the temperature reaches 73 °F. Please check the default settings of your chiller.

Moreover, if you turn on the chiller manually, all controlling settings on “RULE” will not operate.

System Installation

Answer: Once you turn the power on, please allow 1-2 minutes for the eK Core to power up. Please wait until the “status” light begins flashing slowly to start pairing. When the “status” light turns on continuously, please check if the pairing of the eK Core has been achieved. To renew all pairings on your eK Core, please use the pair function on our eKoral app. You will need to input your security key at this time.

If the security key is missing, all settings can only be reset to their default. Please insert the attached pin to the reset hole on your eK Core, and then wait until an interlaced flickering occurs between the “status” and “WiFi” lights. Make sure that the eK Core is powered on when waiting for the eK Core to be reset to a non-paired status, which will take about 3-4 minutes.

Answer: Once you turn on the power, please allow 1-2 minutes for the eK Power 6 to power on and wait until the “WiFi” light begins slowly flashing to start pairing.
Once the WiFi light is continuously lit, press the reset button with the Pin until you hear a little “chia” sound. Wait 1-2 minutes until the eK Power 6 reboots into an unpaired status.

Answer: The eKoral system will ask the user to add a new security key when pairing the eK Core. If the user forgets their pairing account, the user can use this security key to pair with the eK Core without missing any of the original data.

Answer: A router is a must for eKoral products to communicate with your mobile phone and other wireless or mobile devices. However, a router is not needed to connect to the Internet.

Answer: Please use the eKoral app to repair it. The operational procedure is as follows:

  1. Turn off the Bluetooth function on your phone.
  2. Please press the “+” key on the eKoral app’s “Tank List” page.
  3. Apply WiFi pairing (please note that your phone must first be connected to the eK Core hotspot, the password of which is on the back of the eK Core).
  4. Please scan the QR code on the back of the eK Core or enter the SN number.
  5. Please enter your security key (this key is a custom access key for your eK Core).
  6. Please visit the WiFi configuration page, select your router, and enter the password to confirm the connection.

After successfully modifying your WiFi password settings, please reconnect your phone to your home router. eK Core is now ready for use. It is also recommended that you delete the setting of the eK Core Hot Spot on your phone after applying this setting. This deletion is to prevent your phone from automatically connecting to the eK Core Hot Spot, thereby resulting in no Internet access.

Answer: No. Once reset, the eK Core will delete all settings and data, and revert to the default status.

Answer: Please insert the attached Pin into the reset hole on your eK Core. Please approach the different locations inside the reset hole to ensure a successful launch of the reset button (the reset button is in a specific location inside the reset hole of your eK Core). A slight mechanical movement will occur if you successfully push the reset button. The “status” and “WiFi” lights will flash for a couple minutes until the reset is successful, so please be patient. Turning off the power while the lights are flashing may incur an un-recoverable error in your eK Core.

Answer: Because these devices communicate through Wi-Fi, we recommend that they be placed within in 3 meters (9.8 feet) of each other with no large obstacles between them that can weaken the signals. When the signal between the paired devices is too weak, the system will alert the user.

Answer: The maximum combined current of the eK Power 6 and each socket on it is 10 A, and therefore, all connected devices combined should not be drawing more than 10 A from eK Power 6.
If one socket is overloaded, the protection feature will kick in and shut down the overloaded outlet. Devices plugged into the remaining sockets will not be affected.

Answer: The recommended distance is 10 cm – 14 cm (3.9 in – 5.5 in).

Answer: Yes we do. You can download the drawing eK Core Mounting Template to see the positions of the screw holes.

Answer: Unfortunately, we do not. However, the power strip is equipped with screw holes on the bottom. You can download the drawing eK Power 6 Mounting Template to see the positions of the screw holes.

Signal light

Answer: The “status” light indicates the pairing status.

  • When the “status” light flashes slowly, it means the pairing is not yet ready.
  • When the “status” light is continuously lit, it means pairing has been achieved.

The “WiFi” light indicates the online status of eK Core.

  • When the “WiFi” light flashes slowly, it means that your eK Core is offline.
  • When the “WiFi” light is continuously lit, it means your eK Core is online.

Answer: Please refer to the “WiFi” signal light located in the middle of the three signal lights on your eK Power 6.

  • The “WiFi” light flashes slowly (for about 1 second): not yet paired.
  • The “WiFi” light is continuously lit: your eK Power 6 is working faultlessly with its corresponding eK Core.
  • The “WiFi” light flashes quickly: your eK Power 6 is trying to communicate with its corresponding eK Core. Please confirm that the eK Core is powered on and has not been reset.

Answer: Your eK Core cannot connect to eKoral's cloud. Please make sure that your wireless router is connected to your eK Core, and check whether the password of the wireless router has changed.

Answer: Someone reset your eK Core to the initial factory state.

IP Camera

Answer:

  • Step 1: Please refer to the original setting instructions from the IP camera’s manufacture to complete the setup and connect the camera to the same home router your eK Core is connected with.
  • Step 2: To add the camera, open your eKoral app and provide the account and password.

Answer: The camera may have experienced a crash. Please follow the original instructions of the camera to restart it.

Answer: The first and most obvious impact factor is the raw capacity of your network and how much of the bandwidth is being used. The bandwidth of your network includes the network status of your phone and the wireless network status in your home. In addition, if more than one person has opened a remote video, it will also have an impact.

Answer: To avoid the bandwidth resources from being occupied, the remote video system disconnects every 5 minutes to release the resources (local video does not occupy any Internet bandwidth, and is therefore free from this issue with no need for a disconnection).

Answer: This means someone is using remote video to view your shared aquarium. Please go back to the app homepage to turn the camera on again.
